i want to live here. so bad. im not kidding. okay maybe i sound like it but im not.
i want to live in a place where it is always almost rainy and cloudy. not because im one of those twilight fucking posers, but from the beginning when i was little, when the weather was like this i felt calm peacful and i tend to think more and be me instead of acting and being dramatic. i want to live in this place.
THE STORY OF AN EMPTY JAR AND THE 2 CUPS OF COFFEE……
A PROFESSOR STOOD BEFORE HIS PHILOSOPHY CLASS AND HAD SOME ITEMS IN FRONT OF HIM.
WHEN THE CLASS BEGAN, WORDLESSLY, HE PICKED UP A VERY LARGE AND EMPTY JAR AND PROCEEDED TO FILL IT WITH GOLF BALLS. HE THEN ASKED THE STUDENTS, IF THE JAR WAS FULL. THEY AGREED THAT IT WAS.
THE PROFESSOR THEN PICKED UP A BOX OF PEBBLES AND POURED THEM INTO THE JAR. HE SHOOK THE JAR LIGHTLY. THE PEBBLES ROLLED INTO THE OPEN AREAS BETWEEN THE GOLF BALLS.
HE THEN ASKED THE STUDENTS AGAIN IF THE JAR WAS FULL. THEY AGREED IT WAS.
THE PROFESSOR NEXT PICKED UP A BOX OF SAND AND POURED IT INTO THE JAR. OF COURSE, THE SAND FILLED UP EVERYTHING ELSE. HE ASKED ONCE MORE IF THE JAR WAS FULL. THE STUDENTS RESPONDED WITH AN UNANIMOUS ‘YES.’
THE PROFESSOR THEN PRODUCED TWO CUPS OF COFFEE FROM UNDER THE TABLE AND POURED THE ENTIRE CONTENTS INTO THE JAR, EFFECTIVELY FILLING THE EMPTY SPACE BETWEEN THE SAND.
THE STUDENTS LAUGHED.
‘NOW,’ SAID THE PROFESSOR, AS THE LAUGHTER SUBSIDED, ‘I WANT YOU TO RECOGNIZE THAT THIS JAR REPRESENTS YOUR LIFE. THE GOLF BALLS ARE THE IMPORTANT THINGS – GOD, FAMILY, CHILDREN, HEALTH, FRIENDS, AND FAVORITE PASSIONS – THINGS THAT IF EVERYTHING ELSE WAS LOST AND ONLY THEY REMAINED, YOUR LIFE WOULD STILL BE FULL. THE PEBBLES ARE THE OTHER THINGS THAT MATTER LIKE YOUR JOB, HOUSE, AND CAR. THE SAND IS EVERYTHING ELSE — THE SMALL STUFF.
‘IF YOU PUT THE SAND INTO THE JAR FIRST,’ HE CONTINUED, ‘THERE IS NO ROOM FOR THE PEBBLES OR THE GOLF BALLS. THE SAME GOES FOR LIFE. IF YOU SPEND ALL YOUR TIME AND ENERGY ON THE SMALL STUFF, YOU WILL NEVER HAVE ROOM FOR THE THINGS THAT ARE IMPORTANT TO YOU.
PAY ATTENTION TO THE THINGS THAT ARE CRITICAL TO YOUR HAPPINESS. PLAY WITH YOUR CHILDREN. TAKE TIME TO GET MEDICAL CHECKUPS. TAKE YOUR PARTNER OUT TO DINNER. THERE WILL ALWAYS BE TIME TO CLEAN THE HOUSE AND FIX THE DISPOSAL.
‘TAKE CARE OF THE GOLF BALLS FIRST — THE THINGS THAT REALLY MATTER. SET YOUR PRIORITIES. THE REST IS JUST SAND.’
ONE OF THE STUDENTS RAISED HER HAND AND INQUIRED WHAT THE COFFEE REPRESENTED. THE PROFESSOR SMILED.
‘I’M GLAD YOU ASKED’. IT JUST GOES TO SHOW YOU THAT NO MATTER HOW FULL YOUR LIFE MAY SEEM, THERE’S ALWAYS ROOM FOR A CUP OF COFFEE WITH A FRIEND.’
The 7, was my .. i guess, family. there was a mom and a dad. 3 sisters and 2 weird brothers that the sisters never understanded. The mother met the father through the phone and met up through a program. they got married and had 5 children. the mom was always with her daughters and the dad was always with the sons. they [the family] would go on vacations frequently to arbo and meet up. they had fun times and made memories as a family together. One day the mother and the father got into a fight and the family freaked out. the sisters and brothers promised to keep in touch no matter how far they are and which parent they will be with. the mother and father moved far away from each other taking there side of..children. The mother took her daughters and the father took his 2 sons. As promised the childrens kept in touch. but the middle aged daughter got in a fight with the oldest son, so they lost touch.the middle aged daughter also got into a fight with the dad, Because the Dad blamed the middle aged Daughter for breaking the family up. The middle aged daughter got mad because she didnt do anything wrong and was fustrated. she soon became close to the oldest daughter. But after quite some times the two fought and they never talked or looked at each other. the oldest daughter kept in touch with the 2 brothers and she was also tight with the father. soon the children were all mixed up between the two parents. the oldest daughter was with the father some time and others with her mother. the oldest son was also in the middle and so was the younger son. the middle aged daughter stayed close with her mother and they formed a very tight bond, and the youngest daughter had no choice but to be with the mother. Therefore everyone moved on… the children changed , grew up, moved, and decided it was time to move on…
